Tonight (Dec. 14) at 6 p.m. at the Stanford Bookstore on campus, Patrick Hunt will read from and sign his book "Puer Natus Est." The book looks at 2,000 years of Advent-themed art and includes illuminated manuscripts and other images. Hunt teaches at Stanford and is also affiliated with the Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles. Go to events.stanford.edu.

• Music: Gunn High School Choir

When the Gunn High School Choir performs its winter concert tonight (Dec. 14), the program will include Bernstein's "Chichester Psalms" with percussionists from the Gunn Wind Ensemble and Vivaldi's "Gloria" with the Gunn Chamber Orchestra. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at Spangenberg Theatre, 780 Arastradero Road, Palo Alto. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for students. Go to gunnchoir.org.
