• Music: 'A Service of Lessons & Carols'

The annual seasonal program "A Service of Lessons & Carols" is planned for Saturday (Dec. 10) at 8 p.m. in Stanford University's Memorial Church. Stanford pipe organist Robert Huw Morgan leads the free program. Go to events.stanford.edu.

• Dance: 'The Nutcracker'

Peninsula Ballet performs "The Nutcracker" at the Fox Theatre at 2215 Broadway in Redwood City, beginning with an opening gala at 5:30 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 10). Performances run through Dec. 18. Tickets are $20-$50. Go to peninsulaballet.org.

• Family: 'The Chanukah Experience'

On Sunday (Dec. 11), a public kids' Chanukah party is planned at the Lucie Stern Community Center at 1305 Middlefield Road in Palo Alto, hosted by Chabad of Greater South Bay. The party will go from 1 to 4 p.m. with games, arts and crafts, latke-making and a bounce house. Admission is $5 per child (parents get in free). Go to chabadgsb.com.
