Today's events (Nov. 28)

• Family: Tree lighting

A tree-lighting ceremony will include a Toys for Tots drive and a performance by East Palo Alto's Brentwood Academy chorus, today (Nov. 28) from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The event is at the Four Seasons Hotel at 2050 University Ave. in East Palo Alto. Go to siliconvalley.fourseasons.com.

• Art: Judy Gittelsohn

Paintings by Palo Alto artist Judy Gittelsohn are on display at the Vino Locale wine bar at 431 Kipling St. in downtown Palo Alto through Dec. 31. The artist is showing both abstracts and figurative works that give unusual perspectives on the ordinary; a vaguely Cubist cat, for example. Gittelsohn runs Art For Well Beings, a small Palo Alto art school that has many classes for those with developmental disabilities. For more about her and the show, go to judyg.com.
