Two small children were struck by a vehicle south of downtown Palo Alto on Friday (Nov. 18) evening, Palo Alto police confirmed.
The children and an adult were crossing the intersection at High Street and Channing Avenue at about 5:37 p.m. A 64-year-old driver who was making a turn from High onto Channing made ran into them at a low speed, Det. James Reifschneider said.
The adult pedestrian and the driver were not injured, but the two small children received "very minor" injuries and were taken to a hospital as a precaution, he said.
The driver was not cited or arrested, Reifschneider said.
Palo Alto Fire Capt. Doug Conn said fire personnel responded, but the children were able to be transported to the hospital by their parent or guardian.
