Physician panel to discuss teens and sleep

'From Zzzz's to A's' presentation will be at Lucie Stern Community Center

How is sleep connected to the physical and mental health of teenagers?

That question will be discussed by a physician panel tonight (Thursday, Nov. 3) in a presentation titled "From Zzzz's to A's" at Lucie Stern Community Center.

Free and open to the public, the discussion is sponsored by the Palo Alto Council of PTAs, the Palo Alto Medical Foundation, Lucile Packard Children's Hospital, Adolescent Counseling Service and Youth Community Service.

Panelists include local physicians Shashank V. Joshi, Rafael Pelayo and Amy Saltzman and parent guidance specialist Sheila Dubin.

Panelists will be asked to "offer practical parenting advice for helping teens successfully navigate their busy and competitive middle and high-school years," according to the sponsors.

The panel will be from 7 to 9 p.m. at Lucie Stern, 1305 Middlefield Road.
