Stanford grads help USA win in volleyball

The 2011 Pan Am Games continued for Stanford's alums on Sunday as the volleyball trio of Cynthia Barboza, Alix Klineman and Cassidy Lichtman helped the U.S. women improve to 2-0 in Group B play with a three-game sweep of Peru in Guadalajara, Mexico. The USA won by 25-19, 25-15 and 25-19.

Lichtman nearly registered a double-double for the U.S., putting down 10 kills while making nine digs. She also made a block in the contest. Barboza also had a block to go with nine kills of her own.

The U.S. concludes Group B play on Monday night by taking on Mexico.
