Field hockey sweeps NorPac weekly honors

Stanford vs. Colorado football game scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

The Stanford field hockey team swept the NorPac Conference Player of the Week awards on Monday following wins over UC Davis and nationally-ranked California last week.

Becky Dru earned Offensive Player of the Week honors. She scored two goals on penalty corners in a two-minute span during Stanford's 3-2 victory over California. Dru led all players with six shots in that game. In the 3-1 win over UC Davis, Dru added an assist and two shot attempts. For the week, she totaled five points and eight shots.

Kelsey Lloyd was honored as the Defensive Player of the Week. Lloyd scored her first goal of the year in the triumph over California, giving Stanford a 1-0 lead two minutes into the contest. She played exceptional defense in the win over UC Davis as well, helping the Cardinal keep the Aggies in check.

Alex McCawley earned Rookie of the Week honors. Against California, McCawley attempted only one shot but created multiple attacking opportunities in the midfield during the game.


The Pac-12 Conference announced today Stanford's football game against the University of Colorado on Oct. 8 has been assigned a kickoff time of 4:30 p.m.

The game will be televised nationally on Versus.

Stanford returns to action this Saturday to face the UCLA Bruins at Stanford Stadium, with kick off scheduled for 7:30 p.m. The game will be televised live by Fox Sports Net.
