Paly, M-A girls are finalists for PCA scholarship

Senior water polo players Skylar Dorosin of Palo Alto and Marie-Charlotte Popp of Menlo-Atherton are among 50 finalists for 10 scholarships being offered at the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) Triple-Impact Competitor Scholarship Program awards ceremony on Saturday at Stanford.

The 10 winners, five boys and five girls, each will receive a $2,000 college scholarship. The winners best exemplify PCA's model of the Triple-Impact Competitor -- making oneself better, making one's teammates better and making the game better.

The 50 finalists, all seniors from San Francisco Bay Area/Sacramento area schools, will father on Saturday at Paul Brest Hall at 10 a.m. The keynote speaker will be Golden State Warriors assistant coach Kris Weems, the former Stanford basketball player and Menlo School boys' basketball coach.

Other area finalists include Cody Bickham of St. Francis, Daniel Eaton of Los Altos, and Sage Yort of Los Altos.
