■ Film: 'Dirty Dancing'

A free outdoor showing of the 1987 movie "Dirty Dancing" happens at sundown -- around 7:15 p.m. -- tomorrow (Sept. 22) on Courthouse Square in downtown Redwood City. Some chairs and tables are available at this city-sponsored series, which runs weekly through Oct. 6. Go to redwoodcity.org.

■ Music: Jazz jam session

Tomorrow (Sept. 22) at 7:30 p.m., jazz violinist and bassist Marty Honda leads a weekly jazz jam session at Oak City Bar and Grill, 1029 El Camino Real, Menlo Park. Audience members are invited to bring instruments and sit in with the house band. Honda has also regularly organized jam sessions at the Community School of Music and Arts in Mountain View.
