Tonight (Sept. 21) at 7 p.m., Diana Reiss gives a talk on her book "The Dolphin in the Mirror: Exploring Dolphin Minds and Saving Dolphin Lives." ■ Art: 'Salt Works'

Stanford graduate Bill Scull is exhibiting his aerial photographs of the Fremont salt ponds, in all their surreally colored glory, at Gallery 9 at 143 Main St. in Los Altos. The free show is up through this Saturday, Sept. 24. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and noon to 4 p.m. on Sundays. Call 650-941-7969 or go to gallery9losaltos.com.
