A woman killed in a Redwood City hit-and-run crash Tuesday evening (Sept. 6) has been identified as 53-year-old Nora Fuentes-Arias of Redwood City, a San Mateo County deputy coroner said.
Police found Fuentes-Arias lying on the ground in the 3000 block of E. Bayshore Road around 7:15 p.m. Medical personnel pronounced her dead at the scene, according to police. Witnesses told police that a vehicle struck Fuentes-Arias and fled. The vehicle was found at a trailer park in the 1900 block of East Bayshore with front-end damage.
The driver and registered owner of the vehicle, Julio Montenegro, 58, of Redwood City, was found and arrested. Montenegro was booked at the San Mateo County Jail on hit-and-run causing death and vehicular manslaughter charges, according to police.
