■ Street fair: Palo Alto Festival of the Arts

The annual Palo Alto Festival of the Arts returns to University Avenue downtown this weekend (Aug. 27 and 28) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. Artists and crafters will set up booths, bands will play live music, and food and drink will be offered for sale at the free street fair. ■ Film: 'Queen of the Sun'

On Saturday (Aug. 27) at 7 p.m., Kepler's Books at 1010 El Camino Real in Menlo Park will host a screening of the documentary film "Queen of the Sun," about the disappearance of honeybees. The event will also feature a display of "bee-friendly" plants and a talk by Catherine Fraley of CoastalBee.com. Admission is $16 at the door and $12 in advance. Go to keplers.com.

■ Music: Alex Walsh

On Sunday (Aug. 28) at 2 p.m., San Francisco singer-songwriter Alex Walsh will perform folk-rock and blues guitar music. The free concert is at Rengstorff House, 3070 N. Shoreline Blvd., Mountain View. Go to r-house.org.
