Hammer-wielding man sought by Palo Alto police

Incident stems from domestic dispute on Encina Avenue

Palo Alto police are looking for a hammer-wielding man who allegedly followed a woman to Palo Alto after a domestic dispute and got into an argument and fistfight with her male relative.

The man, whom police have not named, allegedly followed the woman on Aug. 15 from Menlo Park to the Encina Avenue residence in Palo Alto after a domestic violence incident, police Agent Rich Bullerjahn said.

The man got into an argument with the woman's male relative at 10:10 p.m. and began swinging the hammer, although he never struck anyone. No one was hurt during the incident, Bullerjahn said. Police have not issued a warrant but have a good description and are actively searching for the man, he said.
