■ Book: 'Through a Land of Extremes: The Littledales of Central Asia'

Local authors Betsy and Nick Clinch discuss and sign their new book on Central Asia tomorrow (Aug. 16) at 7 p.m. at Kepler's, 1010 El Camino Real, Menlo Park. Admission is free to members. Nonmembers must buy the book or a $10 gift card. For more information, visit Kepler's.

■ Exhibit: 'Citizen Bird'

A solo exhibit of Atherton photographer Ed Canty's images of birds, from Bay Area, northern California and Far East locales, will be on display tomorrow (Aug. 16) from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Garden Fresh Restaurant, 460 Ramona St., Palo Alto. The exhibit will be displayed through Oct. 5. For more information, visit Garden Fresh.
