'Relay For Life' held at Paly this weekend

Event raises funds for the American Cancer Society

Relay For Life, a 24-hour fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, is being held this weekend (from 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, to 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 14) at Palo Alto High School, 50 Embarcadero Road.

Teams of volunteers camp out and take turns running laps in memory of loved ones lost to cancer and in celebration of cancer survivors, with luminaria, entertainment and food.

The Palo Alto Weekly/Palo Alto Online is a media sponsor of the event.
