■ The Orion String Quartet

The Orion String Quartet performs works of Brahms as part of the Music@Menlo series today (Aug. 4) at 8 p.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 600 Colorado Ave., Palo Alto. Tickets are $10 to $50. For more information, visit Music@Meno.

■ Film: 'North by Northwest'

The classic Hitchcock thriller "North by Northwest," starring Cary Grant, will be screened today (Aug. 4) at 7:30 p.m. at the Stanford Theatre, 221 University Ave. Palo Alto. Tickets are $7 and admission includes a screening of "Strangers on a Train" before or after the main feature. For more information, visit Stanford Theatre.
