■ Theater: 'Fly By Night'

The new indie-rock musical "Fly By Night" starts its preview performances tomorrow (July 13) at 8 p.m. at the Lucie Stern Theatre, 1305 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto. Presented by TheatreWorks, the show runs through Aug. 13, with performances Thursday through Sunday. Shows are less frequent in August, after the New Works Festival begins. ■ Music: The Distractions

As part of the City of Menlo Park's free summer concert series, The Distractions perform classic and contemporary rock tomorrow (July 13) from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The outdoor concert is in Fremont Park at University Drive and Santa Cruz Avenue. Call 650-330-2200 or go to menlopark.org.
