Today's events (July 12)

■ Art: 'Bird Song and Other Stories'

Clay monotypes by Martha Castillo and light, bright watercolors by Trevlyn Williams are on display in Gallery House at 320 California Ave. in Palo Alto through July 16. Palo Alto resident Castillo works with layer upon layer of pigmented clays and found objects, forming ornate abstractions that transfer colors, shapes and textures to paper or canvas pressed down onto them. South African-born Williams has painted watercolors influenced by the culture and wildlife of her home, and continues to show a love of nature in local landscapes. The free show is open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Go to galleryhouse2.com.

■ Music: 'Brass and Organ Concert'

Stanford University organist Robert Huw Morgan joins the Bay Brass ensemble for a free concert tonight (July 12) at 8 p.m. in Stanford's Memorial Church. Call 650-723-1762 or go to events.stanford.edu.
