■ Music: Whiskey Dawn

The California country-music band Whiskey Dawn plays a free show tomorrow (July 1) from 6 to 8 p.m. outdoors at Courthouse Square, 2200 Broadway, Redwood City. The event is part of the city's free summer concert series. For a full schedule, go to redwoodcity.org.

■ Art: Martu artists

Paintings, baskets, sculptures and other works by indigenous Martu artists of Australia's Western Desert are currently on exhibit at the Thomas Welton Stanford Art Gallery at 419 Lasuen Mall on the university campus. The show, called "Waru! Holding Fire in Australia's Western Desert," looks at the Martu's culture, relationships, ritual arts and foraging economy. It runs through July 31, open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 5. Admission is free. Call 650-723-2842 or go to art.stanford.edu.
