PLANNING AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION … The commission plans to review the revised Draft East Meadow Circle/Fabian Way Area Concept Plan and make a recommendation to the City Council for the plan’s incorporation into the Draft Comprehensive Plan. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, in the Council Chambers at City Hall (250 Hamilton Ave.).

RAIL COMMITTEE … The committee plans to hear a presentation on the economic impacts of Caltrain’s electrification and high-speed rail in Palo Alto. The committee also plans to consider the city’s position on the Environmental Impact Report for Caltrain electrification. The meeting will begin at 8 a.m. on Thursday, June 23, in the Council Conference Room at City Hall (250 Hamilton Ave.).

INFRASTRUCTURE COMMISSION … The commission plans to continue its discussion of the city’s infrastructure backlog and ways to pay for the items on the list. The meeting will begin at 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, in the Lucie Stern Community Room (1305 Middlefield Road).

LIBRARY ADVISORY COMMISSION … The commission plans to hear an update on the Main Library and Art Center site integration project, discuss the Library Group Study Room policy, and consider a report on the waiting periods for holds. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, in the Council Conference Room at City Hall (250 Hamilton Ave.).

PUBLIC ART COMMISSION … The commission plans to see a presentation about projects at the Regional Water Quality Control Plant and the recycling center, consider purchasing art by Davis Bottini and dedicate funds for finalists in the Art Center and Main Library “percent for art” project. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, in the Council Chambers at City Hall (250 Hamilton Ave.).

  1. Rapid Transit Plans for East Meadow/Fabian. In the light of the congestion on Charleston and parking near the JCC, this seems to be an important topic and we should be made more aware of all these plans. Unfortunately, I cannot attend this meeting, but I hope that there will be some residents there and that they can report back on the issue.

  2. More likely it is a plan for the Planning Department’s plan to cram more development in our area.
