Tomorrow (June 14) at 7 p.m., author Lauren Kate will give a talk on her new book "Passion" at Kepler's Books, 1010 El Camino Real, Menlo Park. The book is the third in the young-adult fantasy "Fallen" series. Audience members must buy the book or a $10 gift card from the shop; bookstore members get in free. ■ Theater: Play workshop

Marilee Talkington of San Francisco's Vanguardian Productions is holding a script-in-hand workshop of her new play "Sticky Time" tomorrow (June 14) at 7:30 p.m. in Pigott Hall, Room 113, Stanford University. Actors from San Francisco's Crowded Fire Theater Company will read. The play is about "the birth, life and possible death of time." Go to events.stanford.edu.
