Vandals smashed a window at Jordan Middle School over the weekend and destroyed office equipment in the school cafeteria, Palo Alto police said.
The incident occurred between Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, when a school staff member arrived about 9 a.m. to find hot sauce poured onto a computer, liquids poured into a fax machine and broken computer monitors.
Police are investigating the incident, Palo Alto Police Sgt. Dave Flohr said.
Flohr said the intruders also entered a second building on campus and broke a small window on the door to the computer lab, but apparently did not gain entry to the lab.
