■ Design: 'Off The Table'

Tomorrow (April 5), Stanford University's department of art and art history opens an exhibition of "edible" works by students in the MFA Joint Program in Design. The show is in the Thomas Welton Stanford Art Gallery on campus, and includes such works as a table seesaw on which people dine, and handmade brass kitchen tools. The exhibition is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 5, through April 17. Admission is free. Call 650-723-2842 or go to art.stanford.edu.

■ Film: Stanford Eurasian Film Series

The 1972 Turkmen film "Daughter-in-Law" will have a free screening at 7 p.m. tomorrow (April 5) at 7 p.m., following an introduction by Alma Kunanbaeva of Stanford University's Anthropology Department. The event is in Building 200 (Lane History Corner), Room 030. In the film, directed by Khodzhakuli Narliev, a woman on the steppes lives in hope and fantasy waiting for her absent husband to return.
