Today's events (April 4)

■ Author: Charles Baxter

Tonight (April 4) at 7 p.m., Charles Baxter gives a talk on his short-story collection "Gryphon," which combines stories old and new. The event is at Kepler's Books, 1010 El Camino Real, Menlo Park. Members of the store's "Literary Circle" get in free. Call 650-324-4321 or go to keplers.com.
