Man arrested for Redwood City assault, robbery

Two men still wanted in connection with December attack

Police arrested a man Tuesday (March 8) on suspicion of robbing and assaulting another man near downtown Redwood City in December.

The victim was waiting for a taxi at about 12:30 a.m. in the 1800 block of Broadway on Dec. 21 when four men approached him and knocked him to the ground. The attackers punched and kicked the victim and stole his cell phone and shoes, police said.

Shortly after the robbery, police arrested a 17-year-old East Palo Alto boy who had the victim's cell phone in his possession, police said. Police conducted a follow-up investigation and identified the other three suspects, police said.

Officers located and arrested one of them, Damar Desean Walker, 18, of Redwood City, at about 4 p.m. Tuesday. Walker was booked into San Mateo County Jail. Investigators are still trying to locate the other two suspects.
