Jeanette Pohlen was named Player of the Year, Chiney Ogwumike earned Freshman of the Year honors and Tara VanDerveer received her 11th Coach of the Year award and the Pac-10 Conference named its all-conference teams Tuesday.
Kayla Pedersen, Nnemkadi Ogwumike and Chiney Ogwumike joined Pohlen on the 15-member team.
Chiney Ogwumike was also named to the all-defensive team while Nnemkadi Ogwumike and Pedersen were honorable mention. Toni Kokenis was an honorable mention freshman.
Pohlen became the ninth Cardinal to be named Pac-10 Player of the Year. She averaged 15.8 points and 4.8 assists during the regular season. She has made over 90 percent of her free throws and 43 percent of her 3-point attempts.
"Jeanette has really improved," VanDerveer said. "She's still working on a lot but she has come a long way with her leadership and her ability to run the offense."
Chiney Ogwumike became the first Stanford Freshman of the Year since Pedersen won the award in 2008. She averaged 11.4 and 7.6 rebounds.
VanDerveer led second-ranked Stanford to its 11th consecutive Pac-10 regular-season title in a season where she became the sixth coach to win as many as 800 games.
The Cardinal, who received a double bye into the semifinals of the Pac-10 tournament that gets under way Wednesday, rank in the top 10 nationally in eight different statistical categories.
