Hide-and-stick

Yasim Simon, 8, runs through Patrick Dougherty's environmental-art installation outside the Palo Alto Art Center recently while playing hide-and-seek with her mom.

Dougherty's sculpture, made of intertwined saplings, will be featured -- even during the Art Center's reconstruction -- through Jan. 30, 2012.
