Major changes to the popular Stanford Marguerite free shuttle, which include expanding the service, began Tuesday.
The new routes and maps and additional "limited" service during peak commutes are designed to reduce vehicle emissions, improve service and address riders' requests, Stanford University Parking and Transportation Services announced.
A summary of changes is on the Stanford website.

The "expansion" = trips out to the Rosewood luxury hotel while families in Escondido Village have to transfer to get to Palo Alto Caltrain/Stanford shopping mall and employees have transfer and wait longer. These changes are - despite everything else you hear - most likely a stop on the road to a much more scaled-down "service."
