Menlo men tie for Cal Pac basketball lead

 

Julian Harris scored 21 points as the Menlo College men's basketball team moved into a tie for first place with Cal Maritime with a 68-53 Cal Pac Conference victory over the visiting Keelhaulers Thursday night.

Tim Tatum and Dejon Grant each added 11 points for the Oaks, who rebounded from a last-second loss to Holy Names last weekend.

Menlo (6-2, 10-12) plays at Bethany at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Women's basketball

Monique Ayers-Calvello scored 13 points and grabbed 15 rebounds as Menlo fought off a challenge from visiting Cal Maritime, beating the Keelhaulers, 58-55, Thursday night.

Brittany Taylor added 15 points as the Oaks (6-2, 14-11) remained in second place, two games behind conference leader Holy Names.

Erika Garcia scored 12 points and Kelsey Grozier added 10 rebounds for Menlo, which travels to Bethany for a 5:30 p.m. game Saturday.
