■ Film: 'Waiting for Heaven'

The film "Waiting for Heaven," set in 17th-century Istanbul, will be shown as part of Stanford University's 2011 Winter Turkish Film Series today (Feb. 2) at 2 p.m. at Bechtel International Center, Assembly Room, 584 Capistrano Way, Stanford. ■ Authors: Daisy Whitney and CJ Omololu

Authors Daisy Whitney and CJ Omololu, who write teen novels, will be presenting their latest books, "The Mockingbirds" and "Dirty Little Secrets," today (Feb. 2) at 7 p.m. at Kepler's, 1010 El Camino Real, Menlo Park. For more information, visit Kepler's.
