East Palo Alto youth shot in leg in Redwood City

A 15-year-old East Palo Alto boy was shot in the leg Wednesday night in Redwood City when a man drove up to him and shot him from a car, police reported.

Officers were dispatched to a local hospital at about 8:40 p.m. to talk with the victim, who was shot in his right leg in the 500 block of Hilton Street about an hour earlier.

The victim, of East Palo Alto, told police that the unknown suspect approached him in a vehicle and yelled out some gang slogans before opening fire.

The gunman was possibly traveling in a white SUV or a pickup truck, police said.
