■ Art: ‘Meet the Curator’

Hilarie Faberman, curator of modern and contemporary art at the Cantor Arts Center, will give a free talk at 6 p.m. tonight (Jan. 27) upstairs in the newly installed contemporary gallery at the Stanford University museum. The gallery was profiled in December in the Palo Alto Weekly, and Faberman will talk about recent acquisitions and recently conserved works. ■ Talk: ‘15,000 And Counting’

At 6:30 p.m. tonight (Jan. 27), “garage-sale aficionado” Art Adams will give a talk at the Museum of American Heritage, 351 Homer Ave., Palo Alto. The talk is titled “15,000 and Counting: Confessions of a Garage-Sale Treasure Seeker.” Admission is $5 general and free for museum members. Go to moah.org.
