Menlo wrestlers rank among NAIA elite; Embry Duals up next

Menlo College senior Jason Moorhouse ranks first nationally at 125 pounds in NAIA wrestling rankings released earlier this week.

Moorhouse, who won his bout at 133 pounds against Stanford last week, is one of five Oaks among the NAIA rankings. Moorhouse, a transfer from Skyline College, also won the 125-pound title at the Menlo Invitational.

All-American Christian Martinez ranks eighth at 141 pounds. The junior has been ranked as high as fourth.

Sophomore Greg Alvarez made his debut in the rankings at No. 11 in the 184-pound weight class.

Senior Ali Bannount is ranked sixth at 197 pounds and junior transfer Lenny Romero ranks fifth at 285 pounds.

Menlo (1-5-1) travels to the Embry Duals in Arizona on Friday and the Embry Invitational Saturday.
