■ Music: Larry Chinn

Tomorrow (Dec. 30) at 8 p.m., jazz pianist Larry Chinn will perform at the Oak City Bar and Grill, 1029 El Camino Real, Menlo Park. The event is free. Chinn has played at venues including the Monterey Jazz Festival and Yoshi's. For more information, call 650-321-6882 or go to myspace.com.

■ Art: Chiaroscuro woodcuts

Woodcuts from as far back as the Renaissance are part of an exhibition of chiaroscuro prints at the Cantor Arts Center. Many feature classical or Biblical themes. The show is up through Feb. 27 (including New Year's Day) at Museum Way and Lomita Drive, Stanford University. Hours are Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Thursdays until 8 p.m. Admission is free. Call 650-723-4177 or go to events.stanford.edu.
