■ Music/Theater: 'Striking 12'

The indie-pop trio GrooveLily comes back to Palo Alto for five performances of "Striking 12," its musical comedy-slash-concert. Presented by TheatreWorks, the shows are at the Lucie Stern Theatre at 1305 Middlefield Road in Palo Alto starting tonight (Dec. 28) at 7:30 p.m. Later performances are Dec. 29 at 7:30 p.m., Dec. 30 at 8 p.m., and Dec. 31 at 6 and 10 p.m. Tickets are $56-$75. ■ Exhibits: Local history

Exhibits currently up at the San Mateo County History Museum include "If These Walls Could Talk," a show of photos of the building and the people who have worked in it over the past century; "Ships of the World," a collection of model ships from many nations; and the surfing exhibit "Mavericks." The museum is in the historic courthouse at 2200 Broadway in Redwood City, open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for seniors and students (free for children ages 5 and under).
