Patrick Skov, the younger brother of Stanford linebacker Shayne Skov, gave the Cardinal football coaching staff his verbal commitment Sunday night according to reports from thebootleg.com.
As a senior at Lawrenceville Prep in New Jersey, Skov recorded 153 tackles, 27 tackles for loss, nine sacks and forced eight fumbles from his linebacker position.
On offense, he carried the ball 93 times for 657 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also had 27 catches for 296 yards and two scores.
He's projected as a fullback for Stanford, perhaps replacing Owen Marecic as soon as next year, because of his size and blocking ability.
Lawrenceville, with Skov as the centerpiece on defense, gave up 37 points over its last five games.
"He's big, strong and fast," Hun Prep coach Dave Dudeck said. "He gave us headaches all day. We had a hard time blocking him for sure."
