■ Music: 'Messiah Sing'

Schola Cantorum hosts its annual "Messiah Sing" at 7:30 p.m. tonight (Dec. 13) at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro St. A professional orchestra accompanies the audience singing choruses and arias from Handel's "Messiah." Tickets are $18 general, $14 for seniors and $12 for children ages 12 and under. Call 650-903-6000 or go to scholacantorum.org.

■ Art: 'Reconstruction'

Artist and photographer Naomi Vanderkindren exhibits her "photogenic drawings" -- collages of family photos, photocopies and drawings -- weekdays through Jan. 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The show is at the Clayman Institute at Serra House, 589 Capistrano Way, Stanford University. Vanderkindren states that photos can have "an accidental power of memory," affecting how we recall the past. For more information, go to events.stanford.edu.
