Short Story Contest celebrates local writers

Once again the Palo Alto Weekly honors some of the best fiction writers in the community with its 25th annual Short Story Contest.

This week we've posted the first-place entries in the child, teen and young-adult categories, which cover such topics as a rivalry between two young writers, a forbidden friendship between a princess and a servant, and a look at an average Monday from multiple perspectives.
