A bicyclist was injured in a hit-and-run with a wrong-way driver in Woodside early Friday morning (Nov. 19), a fire battalion chief said.
According to preliminary California Highway Patrol reports, a white SUV struck the male bicyclist on an off-ramp from Interstate Highway 280 to state Highway 84 at about 5:55 a.m.
The vehicle was seen headed south in the northbound lanes on Highway 280, Woodside Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Dan Ghiorso said.
The bicyclist was conscious and talking at the scene, Ghiorso said.

When car drivers act like maniacs, there is nothing bicyclists (or anyone else) can do to protect themselves. I hope they catch this person, lock them up, and throw away the key.

On this story and the story on the previous fatal accident, a map of the location would be helpful for those folks who like them.

At that time in the morning, there's enough traffic on 280, but still pretty dark. Surprising that no northbound cars didn't get a closer look at the perp. They'll hide out long enough to avoid an additional DUI charge now, unless someone got a plate #.

Woodside PD can catch every cyclist who runs a stop sign, but wrong way drivers are not a priority apparently.

We have cut back enforcement to the point where people are not concerned about the consequences of outrageously dangerous behavior behind the wheel. The fact that this person got away with wrong-way driving on a freeway will only justify the same behavior in the future, and there are manhy other drivers who are no better.

Still no news about what happened to the SUV driver?
