■ Music: Stanford Afro-Latin Jazz Ensemble

Tonight (Nov. 16) at 8 p.m., Murray Low directs the ensemble in a performance of classic and modern-day works of Afro-Latin music as it intersects with North American jazz. The concert is in Campbell Recital Hall, Stanford University. Admission is $10 general, $9 for seniors, $5 for non-Stanford students, and free for Stanford students. Go to music.stanford.edu.

■ Holidays: Art gifts

Starting today (Nov. 16), Gallery House opens its annual holiday show of artwork and art gifts at 320 S. California Ave., Palo Alto. The multi-artist show includes sculptures, ceramics, paintings, photographs, prints and other items. The exhibition runs through Dec. 24, open Tuesday through Sunday.
