■ Reception to honor Palo Alto teachers

State Sen. Joe Simitian is holding a community reception to honor teachers Diana Argenti and Natalie Bivas today (Nov. 9) for pushing for older start ages for kindergartners from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Palo Alto Unified School District Board Room 25 Churchill Ave., Palo Alto.
