Domestic violence leads to kidnapping arrest

A Palo Alto man was arrested on Friday (Nov. 5) after storming into a smog shop and forcibly removing and kidnapping his girlfriend, Palo Alto police said.

Andre Mose, 29, was booked in to Santa Clara County jail on domestic violence and kidnapping charges after witnesses called 911 to report the abduction.

The victim entered Palo Alto Smog in the 4200 block of El Camino Real and asked an employee if she could use the phone to call 911. Mose allegedly entered the shop and grabbed her. He pushed her into a car and drove away, according to Palo Alto police Lt. Sandra Brown.

Witnesses called police, who, after an investigation, were able to identify the victim and called her on her cell phone. She returned to Palo Alto and provided a statement to police, but she did not want an emergency protective order or to have Mose arrested. She sustained a lump on her forehead as a result of being forced into the vehicle.

Police contacted Mose by phone and he voluntarily turned himself in, Brown said.
