■ Author: Liz Wiseman

A free brown-bag lunch talk held at 12:45 p.m. today (Nov. 2) in the Stanford Law School features Liz Wiseman. Her new book is "Multipliers: How the Best Leaders Make Everyone Smarter," and the talk will cover ideas on effective leadership. Snacks and baked goods will be served. ■ Film: 'Wintervention'

Famed skier Jonny Moseley narrates the ski and snowboard Warren Miller film "Wintervention," which will be shown tonight (Nov. 2) at 6 and 9 p.m. at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro St. The film was shot in Canada, New Zealand, Austria and other countries. Tickets are $21. Go to ci.mtnview.ca.us.
