■ Talk: Rajmohan Gandhi

Professor Rajmohan Gandhi, grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, will speak on "Building Bridges for Peace" Saturday (Oct. 23) at 10 a.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 670 E. Meadow Drive, Palo Alto. Dedicated to working for peace between cultures and religions, Gandhi is the president of the international organization Initiatives for Change. For more information, visit multifaithpeace.org.

■ Kizuna Concert for Down Syndrome

Bay Area Japanese professional musicians will come together to perform a classical-music concert to raise funds for the Silicon Valley Down Syndrome Network (SVDSN) Sunday (Oct. 24) at 3 p.m. at Mountain View Japanese Seventh-day Adventist Church, 195 N Rengstorff Ave., Mountain View.
