Palo Alto police arrest man for Oct. 8 burglary

Jose Luis Fernandez, 20, nabbed for Oct. 8 residential burglary on Hamilton Avenue

Jose Luis Fernandez, a suspect in an Oct. 8 residential burglary in the 1100 block of Hamilton Avenue, was arrested Wednesday (Oct. 20), according to a press release from the Palo Alto Police Department.

Fernandez, 20, a Stanford University employee, was arrested without incident with assistance from the Stanford Department of Public Safety and the Santa Clara County board of probation, police Lt. Sandra Brown stated in a press release. Fernandez is currently on probation for a previous burglary.

The Oct. 8 burglary took place at 6 a.m. while the home's occupants slept. The suspect entered via a window and stole several items as well as the family vehicle, which was later recovered in Menlo Park.

Fernandez was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail in San Jose on counts of burglary, vehicle theft and probation hold.
