Another case of indecent exposure -- the fifth since Sept. 21 -- has been reported in Palo Alto. A man walked up to four women Tuesday (Oct. 12) at 8:30 a.m. near Park Boulevard and Oxford Avenue and "exposed himself to them," Palo Alto police Lt. Sandra Brown stated in a press release.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his 20s, wearing a black sweater and blue jeans. He was last seen walking on Oxford toward El Camino Real. The suspect fits the description of a man wanted in connection with three other episodes of indecent exposure in late September.
The first incident was reported Sept. 21 at 7:35 a.m. in the 200 block of Stanford Avenue when a man allegedly exposed himself to an unidentified victim. On Sept. 23 at 8:15 a.m., a similar exposure took place at Birch Street and Oxford, just two blocks away from Stanford Avenue, police said.
The third exposure was reported Sept. 25 at 6:30 p.m. at Bol Park, 3590 Laguna Ave., Palo Alto. Police "flooded the area" and arrested 47-year-old Reducindo Sandoval of East Palo Alto, who was positively identified. Sandoval was booked into the San Jose Main Jail.
The fourth incident was reported Sept. 27 at 9:15 a.m. on the foot path near Terman Middle School. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 20 to 30 years old, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing approximately 180 to 200 pounds.
Also on Tuesday (Oct. 12), at 4:20 a.m., a Palo Alto police officer saw a man masturbating near the northbound Caltrain platform at the University Avenue station. The man, a transient, was arrested, cited and released. There was no one else on the platform at the time of the incident.

On Oxford and Park he is just on the other side of Cal Ave from the jail. Too bad he doesn't get closer to the jail where he belongs

I grew up in Palo Alto in the 50s and 60s. My first encounter with an exhibitionist was in grade 6 while biking home from school. There were several other times men exposed themselves to me - Stanford Shopping Center parking lot especially. They just seem to come out of nowhere.
If a person want to masturbate that is fine and natural, but indecent exposure is not! Sex is not something to be done at anyone's expense. And make no mistake, the "exposee" is the victim and the "exposer" is the perpetrator. Anyone engaging in this behavior is psycho-sexually immature and cannot relate to other adults in a normal way. It used to be believed this behavior was harmless but no longer. There people often, and usually do, end up as rapists. You bet, call in the police!

@K.... good one! I grew up in Menlo Park and Palo Alto and first experienced this as an 11 year old in front of the Fox Theatre on my way to see a Disney film. There will always be losers who do this sort of stuff... I think they should definitely spend some time in jail... just let them show themselves there... LOL

Three of these incidents happened practically across the street from Peers Park, where there are often lots of young kids, including Luane's Little Explorers (2-4 year olds). Definitely not OK. I know homeless guys sleep in that park and wash up in the bathroom. I've always figured live and let live, but maybe the PAPD should start checking these guys out.

Because So from Greenmeadow, the guy masturbating at 4:00 AM in a public place, is probably the same guy who is likely to masturbate in a public place at 4:00 PM. What a pathetic use of your opinion.
