Four local teenagers rode to victory at the Stanford Invitational equestrian event this past Sunday at the Stanford Barn. Several teams competed and, after a grueling competition, the Blackstone Farm team took the ribbons.

The events included: a five bar competition — judges raised the jumps higher and higher eliminating horses as they knocked down rails; a relay with two horses — fastest team through a jump course without knocking rails; and a speed class — fastest horse through a jump course.

Members of the winning team were:

Samantha Steiny, 19, a resident of Atherton and a student at Cal; Lindsay Corley 18, a resident of Woodside and a student of Cal; Nick Wells, 15, a resident of Palo Alto and a student of Palo Alto High; and Peri Steiny, 17, a resident of Atherton and a student at Menlo School.

Andrea Correll is the trainer of the Blackstone Farm team.
