■ Music: Freddy Clarke and Wobbly World

At 8 p.m. tomorrow (Oct. 8), Menlo Park guitarist Freddy Clarke performs with his band Wobbly World at Oak City Bar and Grill, 1029 El Camino Real, Menlo Park. ■ Film: 'The Rest is Silence'

As part of the Stanford Romanian Film Series, a free screening of "Restul e tacere (The Rest is Silence)" is scheduled with English subtitles tomorrow (Oct. 8) at 7 p.m. The 2007 comedy/drama about the making of the 1911-12 movie "Romania's Independence" will be shown in Language Corner, Building 260 (Pigott Hall), Room 113, Stanford University. Suzan Negip-Schatt, a lecturer in Romanian, and Florentina Mocanu, a Ph.D candidate in the Drama Department, will also speak. Call 650-725-2563 or go to events.stanford.edu.
