■ Art talks: 'Movement and Animation'

As part of an ongoing free lecture series at the Palo Alto Art Center, Estonian media artist Katri Haarde and San Francisco performer/choreographer Keith Hennessy will speak tomorrow (Sept. 23) at 7 p.m. The two are in residence at the Djerassi Resident Artists Program near Woodside. The art center is at 1313 Newell Road in Palo Alto, and reservations for the talk are required; call 650-329-2366. For more information, go to djerassi.org.

■ Theater: 'Our Town'

Tomorrow (Sept. 23) at 8 p.m., the Pear Avenue Theatre presents a preview performance of Thornton Wilder's "Our Town" at 1220 Pear Ave., Unit K, Mountain View. The show runs through Oct. 17 and is being presented in repertory with Tony Kushner's "Angels in America, Part One," which means the plays alternate performances and the same lead actors are in both. ("Angels" has already opened, and closes Oct. 16.) Tickets are $15-$30. Call 650-254-1148 or go to thepear.org.
