Two arrested for taxi-cab driver murder

Two men have been arrested for the July 2 murder of a San Jose taxi-cab driver, the East Palo Alto Police Department announced Wednesday night.

Derrick Powell was killed while sitting in his cab on the 2700 Block of Hunter Street in East Palo Alto on July 2, 1009.

Oliver Catrell Ware and Donell Webster of East Palo Alto were arrested on murder warrants and were taken into custody without incident, police reported.

Ware was arrested earlier this week, on Sept. 12, in Tacoma, Wash., with the assistance of the Tacoma Police Department.

Webster was arrested earlier Wednesday in Stockton, Calif., with the assistance of the Stockton Police Department, police said.
